Will Marvel Really Release Another Avengers Movie?

As soon as Avengers: Endgame was released, we waited on tenterhooks to see if there would be an announcement about Avengers 5. While we know that Phase 3 is well and truly over, we hoped there would be more information during the Phase 4 details at Comic-Con 2019. Strangely, there weren’t any talks of another group film… So, will Marvel actually release another Avengers movie?

The Phases

For those not quite up on their Marvel phases, here’s a brief rundown. Phase 1 started in 2008 with the first Iron Man, finishing up in 2012 with the first Avengers movie. Phase 2 kicked off with Iron Man 3 in 2015 and ended with Ant-Man in 2015, with Age of Ultron also in that phase. Phase 3, one of the best yet, started in 2016 with Captain America: Civil War and rounded off in 2019 with Spider-Man: Far From Home. It included Endgame too, of course. So, Phase 4 is just around the corner. Or is it?

Delayed Phase 4

Unfortunately, due to the current challenges in the filming industry, Phase 4 looks to be delayed for a bit longer yet. Black Widow is the first film to kick off the phase, which is due to come out within the next month or so. Then we have some interesting new characters in the form of The Eternals and Shang-Chi. Finally, we can expect returns of some of our favorites including Spider-Man, Thor, Doctor Strange, and Captain Marvel. The sequel to Black Panther is also scheduled for Phase 4.

So, where’s the announcement for Avengers 5? We’ve had some big announcements so far and we know that plenty of things have had to be pushed back. However, we expected a little bit more information about another group movie. Even though it would have to look quite different, considering the fates of most of the original cast… We’d still be up for something new!
