Season two of Bridgerton was an exciting one for fans. Not only was it well received, but viewers immediately started asking about season three. Luckily, the show will go on, and season three is already in the making. However, the ton will have to persist without everyone’s favorite Duke. Actor Regé-Jean Page remains clear that he won’t be returning to the show.
The Fans Are Asking About the Duke
Regé-Jean Page certainly shocked fans by leaving the Bridgerton cast after the first season. Although fans have remained hopeful that the beloved Duke will return to the show, Page remains clear and adamant that he won’t be rejoining the cast. When speaking to Variety, Page admitted that he hadn’t seen the second season. When asked if there’s a possibility of the producers recasting Simon, Page said that they’re free to do as they like.
The actor explained that he saw Simon’s transformation arc as complete, giving the Duke the freedom to leave the stage. He said that the Duke made a full circle and that it was done so well that it left everyone with a good feeling. He noted the importance of being brave enough to let stories end like that.
Season 3 Of Bridgerton Is Actively Being Filmed
With or without the Duke, the Bridgerton series continues as it’s been said that filming of season three is already happening. The ton’s trademark decadence will remain as dazzling and uplifting as ever with many of the original cast returning. Rumor has it that the next season will deviate from the order of the books and likely focus on the complicated story between Penelope and Colin.
Fans Can Expect New Characters
Three new characters are said to join the show come season three. Daniel Francis will join the cast, portraying the charismatic Marcus Anderson. Actor Sam Phillips will be playing the role of the eccentric and wealthy Lord Debling. Lastly, James Phoon will take on the role of the very handsome young man, Harry Dankworth. Without a doubt, fans are awaiting the next season with great anticipation!
