A Mysterious Monolith Of Unknown Origins Suddenly Appears in Romania

Only a couple of weeks after a monolith was discovered standing and then promptly disappeared from Utah’s Red Rock Country, another such metal object was reported in Romania. The residents of Piatra Neamt, the Romanian city where the object appeared, say it resembles something out of a piece of science fiction.

As reported by the local newspaper in Romania, the object is composed entirely of metal and stands around 10 to 12 feet tall. It’s located on the Bâtca Doamnei plateau, which is near an archeological site that overlooks the city of Piatra Neamt. Journal FM took a video of the object, finding that there are markings along its surface. According to a translation made by The Independent, the city’s mayor, Andrei Carabelea, made a witty remark that the object might have been planted by alien teenagers who decided to start placing monoliths around the world and that this shouldn’t be a reason for concern for those who believe that there is life in the universe.

Where Did These Objects Come From

It is still unknown where the monolith in Utah or the one found in Romania came from or why they were placed there. The one in Utah was first spotted by the state’s Department of Public Safety and it disappeared just as suddenly as it appeared, less than 10 days later. The New York Times wrote that an adventure photographer claims to have seen four men dismantling the structure on a Friday night. In the morning, all that was left was a triangular piece of metal and a hole where the structure used to stand, reports The Salt Lake Tribune, and the Bureau of Land Management claims not to have moved the object. As for the structure still standing in Romania, mayor Carabelea claims he has no answers to provide but that he would not mind if this mystery ended up attracting more tourists to the area.
