Colton Lowe is a man from Conroe, Texas, age 23, who suspected his weight was getting too high and endangering his health. Despite that, he wasn't too concerned. However, in January 2021, he started working on his newly refurbished Ford Mustang and realized he was too big to safely drive the car. That's when everything changed. Restoring the car meant too much to Lowe, and he decided to do something about his weight.

He'd spent the summer and fall of 2020 getting it ready for driving, and it was supposed to be a culmination of his time, skills, and passion. Now, it had also served him as a catalyst to make major lifestyle changes. Through determination, a healthy diet, and weight loss surgery, Lowe has lost more than 280 lbs.

Lowe is a parts salesperson for a local auto shop and knows his way around restoring a car. He and his father worked on a Mustang together after his dad found the car. Over the years, Lowe, who is a former athlete, got away from his football days and started hearing hints from his family about gaining too much weight. Once he decided to make a change, he used fad diets but felt he needed surgery for more conclusive results. He knew he had to make life-altering changes after the surgery and followed through with it. His doctor, Dr. Jason Balette, said Lowe was an ideal candidate for this type of surgery and got him through the process successfully.

According to Lowe, losing weight has given him more energy, and he found himself wanting to do more than he ever wanted to before. Soon after the surgery, Lowe's father required a liver transplant, and since there were no livers available nationwide, Lowe tried to get a match and donate his own. He was tested, met the weight requirements, and got approved, so he gave his father his liver immediately. Lowe has since stated that people only get one body and should take care of themselves and enjoy their lives.
