What would you do with $25,000? Take an extended vacation? Buy a car? Or maybe treat yourself to a once in a lifetime, photo-with-the-president, meal. The world of gastronomy has over time evolved to create extravagant, and frankly decadent food. Here are some of the world’s most expensive things you can eat:
To be fair, that’s not what they call it down at the Grand Velas Los Cabos where they make it. This is made from Kobe beef, with langoustine, Almas Beluga caviar, and of course, black truffle brie cheese. This is paired with a special salsa made with Morita chili peppers, civet coffee, and ultra-premium Anejo tequila. If you are looking for something to light up your evening, this might just be it.
For $5000, a restaurant in the Mandalay Hotel in Las Vegas called Fluer’s will make you a hamburger that is out of this world. The kick is, the burger comes with a bottle of 1995 Chateau Petrus 5000 wine. The wine retails for close to $5K on its own, so this meal is for people who are after an experience. The patty is made from Kobe beef and topped with foie gras and black truffle.
Louis XII “King Pizza”
This not your average Terrific Thursdays at Mama Palermo’s. This is actually the world’s most expensive pizza, and you can have it for dinner for only $9,710. It is made by Master Chef Renato Viola in Italy. The pizza can be delivered to your house as long as you are living in, or even visiting, Italy. What makes this pie cost just under ten thousand dollars are the toppings and the accompaniments. It is topped with expensive seafood such as lobster and caviar and served with the option of a rare cognac or champagne.
Any list would be incomplete without ice cream. The black diamond ice cream can only be found at a specific shop called Scoopi in Dubai. It is a sundae that will set you back a cool $816. This is because it is made from a vanilla bean ice cream base. The vanilla bean is grown exclusively on the island of Madagascar. It is then topped with black truffles, saffron, and to give it a real kick, 23-carat gold flakes.
Guinness World Record Pizza
Industry Kitchen’s Guinness World Record Pizza is an elegant combination of Stilton cheese, duck foie gras, truffles, and platinum Ossetia cheese. This is then topped off with 24-carat gold leaves. The entire pizza ensemble will set you back $2000 and needs to be ordered 48 hours in advance. If you are really into caviar, for an extra $700, you can have 1.5 ounces of Almas caviar added to the pizza.
Billion Dollar Corn
Movie time around the house could get better with Berco’s billion-dollar popcorn. The website tells you that you get a piece for $5. What they don’t tell you is that the piece being referred to is a kernel. Buying in bulk, the 6.5-gallon tin comes at a discounted $2500. What makes this the most expensive popcorn is the organic sugar, Neilsen Massey Bourbon Vanilla, and Vermont butter coating. It is then topped off with the world’s most expensive salt.
We all love a tasty meal, so if you have more money than you could spend in several lifetimes, you should spend at least some of it on making your tummy happy.
